Gerry Goldstein Represented NACDL on International Terrorist Hearing
National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers President Gerry Goldstein wrote a letter on behalf of the organization urging the Judiciary Committee to hold additional hearing for a resolution regarding international terrorism laws.
Goldstein, a San Antonio-based criminal defense lawyer, said the house should consider the severity of the law, saying the label “terrorist” can be life changing and often times carry a lifetime of blacklisting, imprisonment or even deportation. The resolution seeks to do away with some confidentiality protections for some workers, such as amnestied illegal aliens. Goldstein said in the letter the workers are assured those protections under a previously-enacted law.
