NACDL Supports Proposed Long Range Plan for Federal Courts
National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers President Gerry Goldstein wrote a letter on behalf of the organization saying it supports the Proposed Long Range Plan for Federal Courts.
The December 16th, 1994 letter, addressed to Committee on Long Range Planning Judicial Conference of the United States, said the NACDL and its members support the concept of planning, to enable the federal courts to anticipate and act with respect to likely future opportunities and challenges. The plan also would allow the courts to move toward a federal jurisprudence that is rational, coherent and predictable, the letter said, adding “public participation is the essence of democratic government.”
